When the theater opened in 1935, it was described as “the Twin Cities' most beautiful and modern neighborhood theater” and the "incomparable showplace of the Northwest.” Closed since 1987 and left to crumble, the Art Deco splendor of the building—both the facade and the interior—has been faithfully restored and reimagined as a wedding venue and unique event space with polished terrazzo, lobby fountain, vintage light fixtures, poster cases, new restrooms, a food preparation area, and more.
The Hollywood Theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, notable for its Streamline Moderne design by prominent theater architects Liebenberg & Kaplan.
